T-Shirts and Suits - A guide to the Business of Creativity

Oh wait, this is gonna be the last blog update of 2010! Scary. Well in this case I wont just have a rant, im going to talk about something productive, something helpful, something insightful... if thats a word?
And that topic is... A book! And its author! Surprised? I am... I read a book!
So right, Its been nearly 2 months since I registered design24seven and just to let people know, its going pretty well, thanks for asking (I know you didn't, but im bloody telling, haha).
But in no way is this meant slanderous to University, but I have learned more in the last 2 months than I did in 3 years of a degree through some of the amazing people I have met and the great resources I have been given access to. One of these resources is a book that I finished recently called 'T-Shirts and Suits - A guide to the Business of Creativity' written by David Parrish.
Now not only did I get the pleasure of meeting with David himself, who is a genuinely great guy (check out the unintentional alliteration) who gave me some priceless guidance and advice (and a free cup of coffee) but I was also given a copy of the book which after reading will prove to be a vital tool in the growth of design24seven!
David has worked with a lot of companies, one inparticular you have probably heard of, Smiling Wolf, who have always inspired me, and he has also worked in the creative industries himself, he has literally been there and done that.
Right, so the book, it legitimately is something which inspired me creatively and also being a new start-up, it cleared a lot of the finer details of business with great and relevant case-studies.
The book is on Amzon for about £12 or maybe £13, and whether you already own a business in the creative industries, you work in the industry or one day you wish to run your own, then this book is a must, and will prove to be very useful!
There is also a blog for T-Shirts and Suits and for anybody in or around the liverpool area, there are also T-Shirts and Suits networking events, and an i-phone app to download too... but not an Android app... which is unfortunate considering... I dont have an i-phone! But you cant win 'em all!

Cookies is a random addition to the 2 tins of choclolates... but they are nice! Although they were nicer when I was a kid... Ive forgot my point?!? Nevermind...
