design24seven: The other side of Jon

This Blog will be a selection of things I like, things that are going through my head (they've gotta go somewhere!) and things that inspire me and... things?!? It may end up pointless, it might come in handy or it could end up entertaining, I couldn't tell you?

Polski Awesomeness

Yeh so I haven't updated this for a while because I went to Krakow, Poland for a friend's 30th... What a place! No offence to any Polish but I really didn't expect it to be so good!
The birthday boy flew out on the Friday then followed by... 12 of us to surprise him on the Saturday. Surprise and all that was Brilliant but after the fun of that we went for our own tour of the alcohol talents offered by Krakow's main square... there is so many bars and pubs to cater every mood. More-or-less every bar has an outside area, there is modern bars like the famous chain Hard Rock Cafe or Paparazzi, there are loads of old-fashioned and underground cellar bars, a bar inside some sort of tower? And even a replica of Hooters bars made famous for its waitresses in skimpy hot pants and low-cut tops. This never changed at night neither, it has a sufficient amount of nightclubs which are not necessarily the easiest to find, but worth it!
But thats not all Krakow has to offer, that was just the first day, the area in general is just a beautiful place, the buildings are so colourful it never looks dull, the architecture of some of the cathedrals are amazing, complete with nice fountains and strange sculptures scattered around and the streets are so clean I was considering walking around in my socks! Granted all of this probably looked a lot better due to the scorching sun which was 28degrees at 10.30 in the morning on the one occasion we cared to check (the airport coming home).
Unfortunately due to the short amount of time we had there I didnt get to go on any of the tours, for example the tour of Auschwits, the largest concentration camp built by the Nazis or the less well-known Communist Tours were you can shoot a Kalashnikov Rifle.
Basically, on telling people I was going to Poland, there responses were basically the same, 'why Poland?', well... I dont know but it was a bloody good idea.
Now I am no photographer, and any photographs I do have are mostly of idiots with litres of lager and a stupid grin (me) so I took the easy option of adding a photo from Google image search... dont judge me!
